The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian

This was a book that my English teacher had required for everyone in the class to have read by the end of the year although it wasn’t part of the curriculum. Surprisingly, I liked it a lot more than I thought I would.

This book focuses on a boy who has a few disabilities and is an Indian. It talks about how Indians are more or less looked down on and how he tries to fit in with the other kids. The characters in the story are all very unique and they all have a lot of crazy personality.

It’s quite a short read as there aren’t a lot of pages and the text is big. The story includes drawings and has a lot of jokes. In a way it addresses a serious issue of changing who you are to fit in in a humorous way.
